Res Extensa: The Drive-By Accountant
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You know OCD: the need to do things in patterns, such as repeatedlywashing your hands, organizing your room in pairs, or refusing to use forks with three prongs. Millions suffer from it to various degrees, but no one has it as bad as Renee.
The Pitch:
Renee is a mathematics genius whose OCD has crossed a line. In a mad attempt to create order, she breaks into homes and does IRS forms at gunpoint. When her gun accidentally misfires on a tax hit, Renee's drive-by crimes are mysteriously linked to a serial killer terrorizing the town.
Renee discovers her true purpose in a physics project that utilizes a special device to deconstruct and reconstitute matter. Her skills with numbers make her the perfect savant capable of implementing the machine's complex equations...
But unfortunately, her OCD is a 'kryptonite' of internal torture causing her to reconstruct everyday items out of a need for personal orderliness. In the war for sanity, only one victor can emerge: love or compulsion.
It's death and taxes; order and chaos... only in the pages of Res Extensa.
